چکیده

Scaled Largest Eigenvalue (SLE) detector stands out as the optimal single-primary-user detector in uncertain noisy environments. In this paper, we consider a multi-antenna cognitive radio system in which we aim at detecting the presence/absence of a Primary User (PU) using the SLE detector. By the exploitation of the distributions of the largest eigenvalue and the trace of the receiver sample covariance matrix, we show that the SLE could be modeled using the standard Gaussian function. Moreover, we derive the distribution of the SLE and deduce a simple yet accurate form of the probability of false alarm and the probability of detection. Hence, this derivation yields a very simple form of the detection threshold. Correlation coefficient between the largest eigenvalue and the trace is also considered as we derive a simple analytical expression. These analytical derivations are validated through extensive Monte Carlo simulations Received on 01 June 2016; accepted on 20 February 2017; published on 23 February 2017

Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack in Cognitive Radio Networks: An Analytical Model for Evaluation and Mitigation of Performance Degradation

Cognitive Radio (CR) networks enable dynamic spectrum access and can significantly improve spectral efficiency. Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) exploits the spatial diversity between CR users to increase sensing accuracy. However, in a realistic scenario, the trustworthy of CSS is vulnerable to Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious CR users deli...

Exact Distributions of Finite Random Matrices and Their Applications to Spectrum Sensing

The exact and simple distributions of finite random matrix theory (FRMT) are critically important for cognitive radio networks (CRNs). In this paper, we unify some existing distributions of the FRMT with the proposed coefficient matrices (vectors) and represent the distributions with the coefficient-based formulations. A coefficient reuse mechanism is studied, i.e., the same coefficient matrice...

An Effective and Optimal Fusion Rule in the Presence of Probabilistic Spectrum Sensing Data Falsification Attack

Cognitive radio (CR) network is an excellent solution to the spectrum scarcity problem. Cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) has been widely used to precisely detect of primary user (PU) signals. The trustworthiness of the CSS is vulnerable to spectrum sensing data falsification (SSDF) attack. In an SSDF attack, some malicious users intentionally report wrong sensing results to cheat the fusion c...
